Introducing Michał Świerad – Pastry Chef Extraordinaire at Barbara Luijckx, who conducts exclusive personalized courses in your ateliers both in Poland and abroad. With a lifelong passion for creating delightful flavours, Michał’s journey began in a small village near Rzeszów. However, the drive to gather extensive professional experience motivated him to hone his skills in kitchens all across the country. The beginnings of his career saw him work as a cook and a chef in various restaurants while participating in culinary contests, including a triumphant entry in the esteemed “Young Creator of Culinary Art” competition, where he could showcase his exceptional talent. Driven by his love for confectionery, Michał decided to chart a new course, working as a confectioner in acclaimed restaurants in Warsaw. He refined his craft under the guidance of renowned pastry masters in Poland and abroad, including the prestigious Marijn Coertjens atelier in Belgium. He was the head of a pastry shop at Hotel Arlamów****, one of Europe’s largest hotel establishments. And for the past 8 years, he has been a valuable member of the Barbara Luijckx family, working as the Pastry Chef and Technologist. Michał shares his knowledge and expertise with aspiring confectioners and chefs through immersive training programs conducted in Poland and around the world. He does specialize in chocolate confectionery, but what sets him apart is his unwavering commitment to seasonal and high-quality ingredients. Michał takes great pride in infusing traditional Polish desserts with his own innovative twists. He is currently training to become a regional judge for the esteemed World Association of Chefs’ Societies (WACS) in the confectionery categories. Additionally, he proved to be a very competent coach, helping the Poland National Culinary Team win two silver medals at the Culinary Olympics in Stuttgart in 2020, as well as Polish National Junior Team get two silver medals during the World Cup in Luxembourg in 2022. He is very passionate about his work, loves to create unique recipes and craft captivating desserts on a plate – his specialty. Beyond his culinary pursuits, Michał also enjoys cycling competitions. ☺
